Pepper has no interest in Grant Chamberlain…until she accidentally wins him at a school auction and finds the mega-hot firefighter impossible to ignore. Find out what happens next in the second playful and sexy ebook romance in the Rosewood series!
Living in the small town of Rosewood, Alabama, hairdresser Pepper Anthony has one rule—never date a Chamberlain. She’s always said, “the only thing worse than being ignored by a Chamberlain is being dumped by one.” But Grant Chamberlain, town fireman, isn’t used to rejection, and Pepper has consistently turned him down since high school. She isn’t intimidated by his family; she’s one of the few who refuses to take their crap.
When Grant volunteers at the charity bachelor auction, to his surprise, Pepper buys him. She hadn’t meant to, but Adelia Chamberlain dropped a cold drink in her lap, sending her leaping into the air at precisely the wrong moment. Suddenly she had a massive bill to the town and Grant at her disposal. Since the money has to come from her “restore the house” fund, she decides to use Grant for manual labor instead of romantic dinners. Grant is happy to help, sweaty and shirtless, because one way or another, he’s going to get Pepper to admit she’s attracted to him. All it takes is a small spark, and soon they’ll be fanning the flames.

Feeding the Fire was one amazing story. Its set in the small southern town of Rosewood where everyone knows everyone's business.Feeding the Fire is the second book in the Rosewood Series but can be read as a stand alone. We met Grant and Pepper in Facing the Music, but Feeding the fire is their story.
Grant has been trying to get Pepper's attention since high school, and Pepper refuses to acknowledge the town's bad boy. Not because of his reputation, but because of his last name. Pepper has been raised to hate all Chamberlain's and being as though Grant is a Chamberlain, she has to fight her attraction to him. When a mistake is made at the Valentine's day bachelor auction and Pepper ends up bidding on Grant, instead of being happy, all she wants to do is cry.
Thanks to some meddling from Grant's grandma, Grant works on making everything up to Pepper by helping her for the week of valentine's day to get her house fixed up. During the week these two build a friendship, and things definitely progress between these two. I loved how much they both cared for one another, but how scared they were to be with one another.
One thing Grant believes in is honesty, with the things he's seen, and who his father is, he want's nothing but honesty with the people he has in his life. When Pepper has a secret that isn't hers to tell, things definitely get tense between the two, and instead of fighting for what she wants, she walks out on Grant.
Pepper and Grant's relationship isn't easy for either one of them. Grant has never had a girlfriend before and is trying to hard to be a good person for Pepper, but he's afraid he'll turn into his father, and Pepper is sick of fighting with her family about being with a Chamberlain, especially after she learns why there is so much hatred for the family.
I really enjoyed how Grant and Pepper's story progressed, and as much as I didn't want to like Grant because of his bad boy ways, he definitely grew on me. Pepper on the other hand, she kind of got on my nerves a few times. She couldn't handle the feelings she had for Grant, and instead of working through them, she pushed him away any time she could.
As rocky as Grant and Pepper's relationship was, I did enjoy their story, as well as getting to know more of the citizens of Rosewood. I am really enjoying this series, and the small town romance that Andrew Laurence brings to us in the Rosewood Series. These characters are real, and for the most part easy to relate to.
If you're looking for a hot firefighter and a small town romance, definitely pick up Feeding the Fire today!

Feeding the Fire The Rosewood Series Book 2 edition by Andrea Laurence Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
My Thoughts
Feeding the Fire was a sweet, endearing, and charming small town romance. It can be read as a standalone. However, after having read this story, I want to go back and read, Facing the Music.
In Feeding the Fire, we get Pepper Anthony and Grant Chamberlain's story. Pepper grew up in a working class family, and lived in a run down trailer. Her mother always warned her to stay away from the Chamberlain boys, because they were the type to use a girl for sex, and then leave her heartbroken.
In high school, Grant had a huge crush on Pepper, but she would not give him the time of day. As he got older, he never lost interest in Pepper, and yet she has continued to reject his advances. They ended up spending one incredible night together, and this only awakened their desire and attraction to one another. Yet, Pepper continued to turn Grant down.
When the town tornado relief committee organizes a Valentine's Date Night Auction, Grant is roped in to being one of the men being auctioned off. Pepper buys a ticket to the auction to support her town, but has no plans on making a bid. She has been saving up to to renovate her new home. However, things go wrong at the auction, when Grant's grandmother "accidentally" spills ice cold water on Pepper, causing her to jerk up her arm with her bidding paddle in it. She accidentally bids on a date with Grant, and is very upset to have lost most of her renovation money to the auction. Grant proposes to help her renovate her home, so that she can get her money's worth. After an amazing week together, will Grant finally get the relationship that he wants with Pepper? Or, will a secret destroy their chances at happiness together?
I really enjoyed Feeding the Fire. I liked the small town setting. At first, I wasn't a huge fan of Grant's. He came off as arrogant, use to getting his way, and had cheesy pick up lines. However, I quickly realized that was all a facade. When Grant's grandmother gives him advice to just be himself, and act genuine, he makes a transformation. I fell in love with the genuine and real Grant. He was sweet, caring, funny, sexy, and adorable. I'm glad that Grant's grandmother interfered. She saw the potential for her grandson to be happy, and took the opportunity to make it happen. Pepper and Grant made a great couple, and I was rooting for them throughout the book!
My Rating
I give, Feeding the Fire, by Andrea Laurence 4 Sweet, Humorous, Sexy, Hot Fireman Filled Stars! If you are looking for a fun and light hearted read, this is a great one!
This is another winner from Ms Laurence. I didn't see the twist in the story coming until midway through, and I like surprises. It's a sweet love story and I'm anxious to read the next one this fall.

I received this book for an honest review.
Small town family secrets that could cause a lot of hurt for two families come together when Grant and Pepper begin to explore a relationship. A page turner that keeps you reading as the emotional roller coaster of anger, distrust, and a budding love into the lives of the Chamberlain and Anthony families. Can Grant and Pepper overcome these secrets in order to have a HEA?
Love the story and looking forward to the other stories in the Rosewood Series.
Pepper Anthony a hard-working hairdresser who is saving every penny she can to restore her new house. Pepper has one rule Never Date a Chamberlain. Grant Chamberlain has been persistent since high school to get her to go out with him. She is different from everyone else he has dated, being immune to his charm.
When Grant volunteers to participate in a charity auction he is surprised to find Pepper has bid on him. But Pepper is even more surprised because she had no intention of bidding on anyone, let alone a Chamberlain. When Grant's grandmother accidently spills water on Pepper, causing her to jump up and place the winning bid, Pepper is certain her dreams of restoring her house are over.
This book is well written. The plot twists and turns make it so you can't put it down. Andrea Laurence does an excellent job of intricately connecting the characters so that you can't wait for the next book in this series. I look forward to reading more from Andrea Laurence.
